Keep Going, Even if You Slip

Stopping smoking is a process, and many people slip along the way. There is no magic formula to help you stay on your plan. Sticking to your plan - no matter what - is hard because your urge to smoke will try to overpower your will to stop.

Be prepared to slip. Nicotine is so addictive that just one puff of a cigarette may turn you back into a smoker. Try not to let this happen, but don't be discouraged if it does.

Use your ZYBAN® Net booklet to write down what caused you to slip and how you will handle the situation next time. Remind yourself of your reasons for wanting to stop smoking, acknowledge the steps you have accomplished, forgive yourself for slipping, and get right back on track.

Remember, most people make several attempts to stop smoking before they meet their goal. Slips are part of the process. With each attempt, you will learn more about yourself and what you can do to overcome the urge to smoke next time.

Keep reminding yourself of your reasons for wanting to stop smoking. You can do it!
